Most foundation beds look fine from a distance. But up close, the edges tell the real story. When gravel or rock just bleeds into the lawn with no clear boundary, the whole yard feels unfinished - no matter how nice everything else looks.

That's exactly what we set out to fix here. We installed a clean stone border along the foundation and secured it with paver edging. That edging is what keeps everything locked in place. Without it, rock migrates into the lawn, mulch shifts around, and you're constantly chasing the border back into shape. With it, the bed holds its form season after season.

The curved line along the foundation isn't accidental either. Getting that gentle arc to follow the natural contour of the house takes careful placement. It's one of those details that looks simple but makes a big difference in how polished the finished design ends up feeling.

We're not done yet - this bed is still waiting on its finishing touches. But this is what a solid foundation for a landscape design looks like mid-process. The bones have to be right before anything else goes in, and that's exactly where we're at.

Good landscape maintenance starts with good structure. When the edging is solid and the rock bed is properly contained, keeping things looking sharp long-term becomes a whole lot easier. This is the kind of work that pays off every single season going forward.
