A tired, bare tree bed can drag down the look of an entire yard. It's one of those things that's easy to overlook until you see what a little attention can do. That's exactly the kind of work we enjoy - straightforward, high-impact improvements that make a real difference at the street.
Here's what we were working with: a large tree with an open bed that had lost its shape and color. No defined edge, no real structure. Just a forgotten patch of ground around an otherwise healthy tree.
We came in with rich, dark mulch and laid it thick and even across the entire bed. The color contrast alone does a lot of heavy lifting. Dark mulch against the natural gray and tan tones of the natural boulders creates a clean, grounded look that feels intentional - not just maintained.
The boulder edging is what ties it all together. Instead of plastic border material or bare dirt, the natural stones give the bed a solid, finished boundary. They add a bit of character too. It's the kind of detail that looks like it's always been there, just done right this time.
Fresh mulch also does more than look good. It helps retain moisture around the root zone, keeps weeds down, and protects the soil over time. So you're not just getting a better-looking yard - you're giving that tree and bed a better environment to thrive in.
