Sometimes a yard just needs a full reset. Old, worn-out grass has a way of dragging down the look of an entire property - no matter how nice the house is or how well-kept the garden beds are. That's exactly the situation we were working with here.
We pulled out the old grass and laid fresh Kentucky bluegrass sod across the backyard. Bluegrass is a great choice for this kind of space - it establishes a dense, lush surface that holds up well and looks clean from every angle. You can see how even and green the lawn came out. No patchy areas, no uneven spots. Just a solid, healthy lawn.
We also gave all the garden beds a fresh layer of mulch. That dark mulch does a few things at once - it keeps moisture in the soil, helps suppress weeds, and makes the plants and shrubs pop visually. The beds along the fence line and around the back of the yard are packed with established perennials and shrubs, and the fresh mulch ties the whole thing together.
What we ended up with is a backyard that actually feels finished. The lawn, the beds, the pathway - everything is working together now. That's what good sod installation and garden maintenance can do. It's not just about making things look nice. It's about building a yard that's easy to enjoy and easier to maintain going forward.
